Engineering Designer – Stormwater Management

Ambashi Engineering & Management Inc. is seeking a motivated Engineering Designer –
Stormwater Management to support municipal infrastructure and land development
projects across Ontario. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, design,
and analysis of stormwater management systems, including drainage, grading, and
servicing designs, while ensuring compliance with municipal standards and regulatory
requirements.

• Assist in the design of stormwater management systems, including storm sewers, drainage, grading, and SWM facilities
• Prepare and support Functional Servicing Reports and stormwater management reports
• Develop and review stormwater management models (e.g., SWMM, MIDUSS, OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS)
• Prepare engineering drawings and figures using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Support preparation of cost estimates for municipal and land development projects
• Interpret engineering drawings, municipal standards, and approval requirements
• Coordinate with municipalities, conservation authorities, and regulatory agencies
• Collaborate with project teams to support efficient project delivery from concept through approval
• Assist in identifying design challenges and developing practical solutions
• Work in a fast-paced consulting environment managing multiple project tasks

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma with related discipline
• Eligible for or pursuing P.Eng. designation with PEO.
• Strong knowledge of stormwater management principles and municipal servicing design
• Experience with SWM modeling software (SWMM, MIDUSS, OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical specifications
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in stormwater management or municipal design
• Experience in land development or municipal infrastructure projects is an asset
• Familiarity with Ontario municipal standards and approval processes is preferred
