Senior Construction Inspector (Highway & Bridge)

Ambashi Engineering & Management Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Construction Inspector (RCSI) to support MTO highway and bridge projects across Ontario. In this role, you will ensure construction activities comply with contract
documents, OPSS specifications, and MTO standards. You will lead inspection activities, oversee quality assurance processes, and provide guidance to junior staff while ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

• Perform and oversee inspection of construction activities for compliance with OPSS, OPSD, and contract requirements
• Prepare and maintain detailed daily inspection reports and site documentation
• Identify, document, and track deficiencies and verify corrective actions
• Monitor health & safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and construction procedures
• Verify quantities for progress payments and support reporting requirements
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to resolve field issues
• Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Junior Inspectors and field staff
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are properly implemented and followed
• Travel to and work on various project sites across Ontario

• RCSI (OACETT) or EIT (PEO); P.Eng. is an asset
• Minimum 2 MTO highway or bridge projects completed as RCSI
• 4+ years of relevant construction inspection experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of OPSS, OPSD, MTO Contract Administration, and QA/QC practices
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and lead junior staff
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel to remote project locations

• Minimum 2 years of experience as RCSI or Office Person on MTO or municipal projects (required)
• Experience on highway and/or bridge construction projects
• Proven experience in inspection, documentation, and contract compliance
