Job Description
Ambashi Engineering & Management Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure (Highways & Bridges) to lead and deliver MTO and municipal transportation projects across Ontario. In this role, you will manage the full project lifecycle—from planning and design through construction and closeout—while also contributing to business development and expanding the company’s infrastructure portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage MTO highway and bridge infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with OPSS, OPSD, MTO standards, and contract requirements
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (design, CA, inspection)
- Review and approve engineering designs, reports, and contract documents
- Provide leadership during construction, including contract administration oversight and issue resolution
- Manage change orders, claims, risk assessments, and project controls
- Liaise with MTO, municipalities, clients, and stakeholders
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, project managers, and technical staff
- Support business development initiatives, including client engagement, proposal preparation, and expanding business opportunities
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario (PEO) required
- 8–12 years of experience in highway and/or bridge infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing MTO projects (design and/or construction)
- Demonstrated experience in business development and client relationship management
- Strong knowledge of OPSS, OPSD, MTO Contract Administration, and construction practices
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of project management principles (scope, schedule, cost, risk)
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Ontario
Experience Requirements
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering and project management
- Experience managing MTO highway and bridge projects (required)
- Experience in both design and construction phases is highly preferred
- Proven track record in business development and expanding client base
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and within budget
